chaser has seen in hattiesburg. he's joning us on the telephone. john, i am here as well with our meteorologist chad myers. tell us what you saw. >> good evening, breanna. i originally picked up the tornado as it met out of marion county, mississippi. there was an initial report that came out of their emergency management that the tornado had struck several homes and people. from there i was able to pick it up about ten miles to the west of hattiesburg and tracked it into town. the tornado itself on the west side of the interstate was indeed larger than the eastern side of the interstate. we've been able to go back and look at our video in the last couple of hours since the tornado moved through at about 5:10 p.m. central time. i didn't hear sirens over there but as we moved into the downtown area towards the college campus, those sirens were loud and proud. i also want to give a shout out to the local fire department. as the tornado was paralleling highway 98 and moving into the city, they were out there blocking traffic to keep folks from driving into the tornado as well as ther

to get this job done. none of us will get 100% of what we want. but nobody should want these cuts to go through, because the last thing our families can afford right now is pain imposed unnecessarily by partisan recklessness and ideological rigidity in washington. as i said at the state of the yoib, the american people have worked too hard for too long rebuilding from one crisis to see the elected officials cause another one. and it seems every three months there's some manufactured crisis. we've got more work to do than to just try to dig ourselves out of these self-inflicted wounds. while a plan to reduce our deficit has to be part of our agenda, we also have to remember deficit reduction alone is not an economic plan. we learned in the 1990s when bill clinton was president nothing shrinks the deficit dpaster than a growing economy that creates good, middle class jobs. that should be our driving focus, making america a magnet for good jobs, ewinning how people with the skills required to fill those jobs. making sure their hard work leads to a decent living. those are the things

is at the new york stock exchange. tell us how it happened. >> it's the jobs number that was pretty strong. it showed january's job reports, 157,000 jobs were added to the economy, but the way wall street sees it, it came in soft. wall street is looking at it at a more broader view, and they are looking at the momentum from november and december, and you are seeing a stronger trend continue, so that's good news obviously. but then again there has been an underlying optimism already in the market, and that's being fueled by the federal reserve. and that's buying up mortgage backed treasury and securities, and that's driving interest rates lower so the best game in town as far as investors see it to make money is here in the stock market, and it's driving investors to the stock market. and what moved the needle, it was the jobs number, and how the next milestone for the dow will be the all-time high, and first we will see if it can hold at 14000 at the close, and then we will see what happens. >> how much confidence do we have in this rally? >> some say not much, and others say stocks

calling us from somewhere, camp david you wherever, and discuss the cuts. >> reporter: one thing we have been seeing the blame game, trying to make the american public feel like one party is more responsible for all the bad things that are going to happen if these cut goes through, like these long airport lines and no more fun for food safety inspections, that sort of thing. there's a new poll out by pew and "usa today" that suggests the white house may have the upper hand here winning this argument it is the gop to blame. 31% of those polled said they would blame president obama if these forced spending cuts go through. 49% would blame republicans in congress and only about 11% would blame both sides, frederica. >> and we have heard a bit about what agencies would be hit, such as transportation, even defense. are there any departments or agencies that might be exempt from these cuts potentially? >> reporter: sure there are some exempt. military personnel, the va, veterans affairs, also exempt. the other big area exempt is entitlements like medicare and medicaid and social security.

hattiesburg. he jones us on the telephone. i'm here with our meteorologist chad myers. tell us what you saw. >> reporter: i picked up the tornado out of marion county, mississippi. there was initial report that came out of their emergency management agency that a tornado had indeed touched down and struck several homes, injuring several people. from there, i was able to pick it up about 10 miles to the west of hattiesburg. the storm was larger on the western side of the interstate than the eastern side. we've been able to go through and look at our video. now, the folks in west hattiesburg, i didn't hear sirens over there, but as we moved toward the college campus. the sirens were loud and proud. also want to give a shout out to the local fire department. as the tornado was paralleling highway # 8 and moving into the city. they were out there blocking traffic to keep folks from driving into the tornado as well as police out on the interstate. they had the interstate blocked for a time. >> chad myers, just amazing video we're watching here. what type of damage have you seen? >> the d
